TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the services provided by Capital City Notary & Field Services.

1. Scope of Services

Services include:

  • Mobile, electronic, and remote online notarization
  • Apostille facilitation
  • Courier and field services
  • Document delivery or pickup
  • Permit runs
  • Property checks and photo documentation

All services are performed in accordance with Illinois laws and notary statutes.

2. No Legal Advice

I am not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice.
I cannot:

  • Tell you which document you need
  • Explain legal consequences
  • Modify or draft documents
  • Review or verify the legality of your documents

By using my services, you acknowledge you must consult an attorney for legal questions.

3. Client Responsibilities

Clients must:

  • Provide a valid, government-issued photo ID
  • Ensure all documents are prepared (but unsigned if required)
  • Provide access to the appointment location
  • Have all signers present on time
  • Provide necessary witnesses, unless discussed in advance

4. Fees & Payment

Accepted payment methods:

  • Cash
  • Card
  • Venmo
  • Stripe link

Travel fees and convenience fees are collected as a non-refundable deposit.
Notarial fees and additional service fees are due upon completion.

Waiting fee:

  • After 10 minutes → $10 per 15 minutes (up to 30 minutes)

5. Field Service Limitations

For field services, Capital City Notary & Field Services does not assume responsibility for:

  • Property safety or security
  • Legal compliance of the property or task
  • Damage assessment or reporting
  • Decision-making on behalf of the client

Services are limited to completing the requested task and documenting it.

6. Apostille Service Limitations

You acknowledge that:

  • Processing times depend on government agencies
  • Mailing and courier delays are outside our control
  • Courier/mailing fees are separate and non-refundable
  • Additional shipping charges may apply for international destinations

7. Cancellations & No-Shows

All cancellations, rescheduling, and no-show rules follow the Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

Liability is limited to the amount paid for services rendered.
We are not responsible for:

  • Document acceptance by third parties
  • Delays outside our control
  • Client errors or omissions
  • Losses resulting from incomplete or incorrect documents

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
